Case Study

Government-backed food security supply agreement (Food Security / Trade)

An Australian agri-food business producing high-value shelf-stable products had identified a significant opportunity in a Southeast Asian market where national food security policy was creating strong institutional demand for reliable long-term supply arrangements. The client had a good product and some export experience, but the opportunity required engagement at a government-to-government level, alignment with a national food security programme, and a commercial structure that could satisfy government procurement requirements while still giving the client the investment certainty it needed to commit to volume.

Standard trade channels had produced no traction over eighteen months. Suasor mapped the relevant bilateral trade frameworks, identified the right institutional entry points on both sides, and helped shape a supply arrangement built around the importing government’s food security priorities rather than a standard export sales model. They also identified and introduced a regional distribution partner with the regulatory approvals and logistics relationships needed for sustained delivery.

The client moved from stalled market exploration to a signed heads of agreement with a government-backed procurement body, with a structured supply pathway and a distribution partner in place.”
